![]() Our overall hourly fee is $40.00 an hour, which will be used to estimate what your monthly fee will be, based on the number of your monthly transactions. This way, you will have the same monthly fee for budgeting purposes. Generally, 35 to 40 transactions constitutes an hour of work. Transactions include checks written, deposits made, automatic deductions from your checking account, debit card purchases, credit card purchases, invoices, etc. Some transactions, such as payroll checks or detailed customer invoices, take longer to do and count as two or more transactions. If you are a business, such as a restaurant, with high employee turnover, setting up the new hires is equivalent to about 10 transactions for each new employee. Quarterly payroll taxes are additional, usually two hours for the average small business. Here are a couple of examples to help you determine what your estimated monthly fee will be: Example 1: An attorney who typically settles four cases a month, resulting in four deposits, and writes 40 checks a month, including two payroll checks, with his telephone bill automatically deducted from his checking account. The attorney has a total of 47 transactions (four deposits, 38 regular checks, two payroll checks which constitute four transactions, and one bank deduction). The attorney’s monthly fee would be $80.00 for two hours of work. Example 2: A residential plumber who uses his bank debit card for 20-25 miscellaneous purchases and has approximately 60 invoices a month which he wants detailed as to the type of work done. Each invoice has at least two billed items, a service charge and the type of plumbing, such as installing a toilet or repairing a leak. He also writes 20 checks and makes weekly deposits, with one payroll check written to himself each month. The plumber has a minimum total of 166 transactions (20 debit card purchases, 60 invoices x 2 for the number of items billed, 20 checks, four deposits, and one payroll check which constitutes two transactions). The plumber’s maximum total could be as high as 200 transactions. We will split the difference, which results in 183 transactions, so the plumber’s monthly fee will be $200.00 for five hours of work. Fees will only be raised when your business grows and the number of your transactions increases. Pickup and delivery, if required, will be factored into your monthly fee. However, if we are going to be in your area for other reasons, we will gladly pick up or deliver your work at no extra charge. |
